Battery Passport Assistant
A role dedicated to keeping your EU 2023/1542 battery passports up to date: unique digital ID per battery, critical materials traceability (Li, Co, Ni), recycling reporting, State of Health monitoring. Named human reviewer. Single call — 1-hour diagnosis, then a 4-week pilot priced after your priorities.

The problem: no passport, no market access
EU Regulation 2023/1542 makes a digital passport mandatory, from February 18, 2027, for any battery over 2 kWh placed on the European market. The passport must trace composition, carbon footprint, critical raw materials, state of health (SOH) and remaining useful life (RUL), from manufacturing to recycling.
Without an immutable UID and a documented data chain, your battery is no longer marketable on the EU market. The complexity is in the data: raw material provenance, cascading supplier traceability, real-world usage data for SOH/RUL calculation, conformity of the recycling centers you exchange with. A spreadsheet does not hold this volume — nor the audit trail authorities will request.
The dedicated assistant deploys the digital identity infrastructure, ingests upstream data (mines, chemical processors, assemblers), maintains SOH/RUL indicators for Second Life value — with human review by your Quality Manager before each publication.
● IN scope
- ✓Unique digital identity (UID) per battery over 2 kWh.
- ✓Upstream traceability of critical raw materials (Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel, Graphite).
- ✓Calculation and update of State of Health (SOH) and Remaining Useful Life (RUL).
- ✓EU 2023/1542 compliance reporting and interface with recycling centers.
● OUT of scope
- ✕Battery cell design and electrochemical R&D — handled by the engineering team.
- ✕UN certification for battery transport — logistics / aviation authority responsibility.
- ✕Second Life commercial strategy — COO / industrial leadership decision.
Named human reviewer
Every passport publication and every change in a battery's status goes through:
- Your Quality Manager — validates the accuracy of upstream data and signs each new publication.
- Damien Godard, founder of Taranis AI — arbitrates structural decisions (EU market positioning, sanctions exposure, compliance rollout plan).
Review channel: weekly asynchronous review (email + traced comments) — no verbal decisions, no ephemeral chat.
The single call
Two steps, one single call. Deployment does not stop on 02/18/2027: data evolves, the passport evolves.
Step 1 — 1-hour diagnosis
What is your baseline?
- · Map your batteries above the 2 kWh threshold
- · Review your current materials traceability
- · List your cascading suppliers (Tier 1 to Tier n)
- · Compliance rollout plan before 02/18/2027
Deliverable: 4-page note + battery map.
Free if you take the pilot
Step 2 — 4-week pilot
First passport published
- · Deploy UID infrastructure for a pilot range
- · Integrate upstream data (Tier 1 to Tier 3)
- · Publish the first test passport on the register
- · Weekly human review: Quality Manager + Damien
Deliverable: 1 passport published + repeatable procedure.
Fixed-price pilot, quoted after diagnosis
4 weeks · no commitment · priced after the diagnosis
